- About Dr. Kaplan -

Michael S. Kaplan, M.D. is a Board Certified Urologist with subspecialty training in Urologic Oncology. He is President and CEO of the Urology Institute of Nevada and has been practicing urology in the Las Vegas valley since 1989.
Dr. Kaplan completed his fellowship in urologic oncology at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from UCLA, after which he attended the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Kaplan completed both his internship and residency at Letterman Army Medical Center Presidio of San Francisco, California.
As a specialist in urologic oncology he is a supporter of prostate cancer screening and is co-founder of the local chapter of "US TOO", a prostate cancer support group. His areas of expertise also includes vasectomy, vasectomy reversal, treatment of erectile dysfunction, and kidney stones. Dr. Kaplan has a special interest in treatment of female incontinence and vaginal vault prolapse. He has been selected as a mentor, teaching other surgeons advanced minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Kaplan is one of the most experienced vasectomy surgeons in the United States, having performed over 10,000 no scalpel vasectomies. He currently specializes in the No Needle No Scalpel vasectomy.
He received the "Consultant of the Year Award" from the Nevada Academy of Family Physicians in 1996. Dr. Kaplan is a member of numerous professional societies including the American Urological Association (AUA), Clark County Medical Society, Nevada Medical Society, American Medical Association, and the American Board of Urology.
Dr. Kaplan provides services primarily at the office in Henderson, Nevada, easily accessible from I-215, I-15, and I-515.
